Science Service Learning

Hello guys, my name is Ananda Jihan Syavira from class XII MIPA 6. Here I will tell you my activities regarding service learning.  To be more precise, I will share stories with you about my activities to share knowledge contributions with the children of my neighbors.

My knowledge contribution begins with the lack of learning assistance for children.  Of the parents who are not technology-savvy, are busy with their respective jobs and some are less knowledgeable.  This made me touched my heart to contribute knowledge to neighboring children who lack learning assistance.  If children do not get parental attention, children will be lazy to learn, act on their own and have difficulty concentrating, as a result the child's learning achievement will decline.  Learning achievements can be obtained from schools and parents, both in providing time or material that will be received by children.

Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, many parents complained that their children were lazy to study.  This is due to the lack of parents who understand both technology and knowledge.  How could it not be, parents who previously entrusted their children's education to teachers at school suddenly have to play a role as learning companions for their children at home.  Those who are clueless are suddenly demanded to adapt quickly to various digital platforms that have never been known before.  This gave me the opportunity to be their study companion.  I take my time to contribute a little knowledge to them.

Before I taught them, I prepared all the properties for their study companion.

Then, I prepared their materials at school.

After that, I prepared their place of study and got ready to study.

Then, I explained about their material.  After they understood, I gave them examples of questions and questions for them to take turns working in the future.

After that, if everyone understands.  I gave them a small quiz to measure how much I understood the material I gave.

After they finished working on it, I immediately corrected their work.  If something went wrong, I immediately told them the correct solution.

After learning is complete, we all pray that the knowledge gained is useful.

That's the story of how I contribute knowledge to others.  Hopefully what I give to others can have a positive impact and benefit others.  Always spread kindness, so our kindness will be rewarded with kindness too.
